Extended warranty 2016 26RR

I'm picking up and finalizing the purchase on Saturday. The dealer presented options for a 5, 6, and 7 year extended warranty. The 5 year is roughly $1,100.00, with about a hundred dollar increase to get to the seven year.

Manufacturer warranty is one year. Like automobiles this seems like a final push for more margin for the dealer. If never bought a new TT before. Is it smart or not?

Maybe you already are aware of Forest River's Second Year Warranty (Ours cost $150). They offer it on many of their travel trailers, but have to be asked for in many instances as dealers tend to push their own warranty. To me it was a 'no-brainer'!

Forest River has that you can extend factory warranty for a year for 150 dollars. You need to sign up for it within 10 days of purchase. If you miss by few days they will still honor it. I got the form from my dealer. IMO it's a no brainier. If dealer does not give you it call FR warranty. I think extended warranties provided by dealers are not worth the money but for $150 can't beat the extra year

Thanks for the information. Got mine from Sun Camper in Ft Pierce, FL., and they did give me the warranty paper which we sent to Forest River, along with a check for $150.00. No brainer.
