My Arctic Wolf came with them, they are great except two things which have been pointed out to me ... They're a bit heavy to fold up, and they dump dirt/water in the camper when you fold them up. Neither has been a problem for me though, I'm still strong and I sweep them off before stowing.

Seems like the bottom step is seldom the right height, especially if you have to bring up the awning side to level out. I carry a plastic soda crate as a spare extra step, they're wide, stable and about 6" high. Free if you work it right!

I built a sturdy wood box for the additional step. Since it is not attached, sometimes it is better to be to one side. Also doubles as storage container for blocks under leveling jacks. Also built a larger step cover for the metal step, which is removed before storing. Use an adjustable jack under corner for additional support. Both are covered with non slip tread tape.

I replaced my single step with a double step from etrailer. Works great and solved the problem

Forest river wolf pup 17rp step question

Thanks for the replies. Now that I know what kind that is, it may not be the best for me. It looks great for hard solid surfaces but I camp a lot in the sand. I suspect those legs would dig in pretty quick. I better go for a regular two step kind. What do you guys think of this one?

I have those on my TH, but it has three steps. They work great, but they do have a little flex in them.

Now you have me wondering if I should get a 3 step? What is the height of the bottom of your toy hauler?
