FRIDGE FALL DOWN and GO BOOM
We were going camping over the Labor Day weekend and when we arrived at our destination, I walk into the RV and WOW! Our "apartment size" refrigerator had fallen out and hit the slide out damaging several things. Found out that units that have the "apartment" or regular house fridges were ONLY held in by 1 small "Z" bracket. The bracket had broken and apparently the motion of going down the road caused it to fall out. We had ice cubes, yogurt and salsa EVERYWHERE. But NO broken eggs. When the fridge struck the slide out it badly damaged the trim on one end, dented the fridge doors, knocked the doors out of alignment and tore up the wood under the fridge. Now that we finally have it back from the shop, the company we took it to manufactured a heavy duty "L" bracket to the top of the fridge, screwed the unit down in the front, replaced the trim on the slide out and replaced the doors on the fridge. If you have the "apartment size" fridge please make sure that yours is anchored better than ours was. If the fridge falls out now, it will take part of the RV framing with it.
