A 1000 defiantly will not run a/c. 8 amps at 120v
A 2000 is also questionable for a/c use I would not recommend this either. 16 amps at 120v
A 3000 IMO is what you need to run a/c minimum. 25 amps at 120v

If you have a 13.5 KBTU HVAC, a 2KW is really iffy. The Yamaha 2400 will run a 13.5 and is about the smallest genset that will.

You would do much better with a 3KW or paralleled 2KWs.

If your trailer has 15 KBTU the 3 KWs are ok to iffy, paralleled 2KWs OK.

If you are not concerned with the noise of a contractor grade genset, you can get by with just about any 4KW+ genset. Very cheap.

Dometic makes a 3000 watt generator that is reasonably priced (I paid $800 recently in Canada) and Champion makes a nice 2000 watt unit that is very reasonably priced. Check my
You Tube video for a comparison of my Dometic and a Hyundai 1250 watt unit. Rumour is the Champion 2000 watt Inverter is quieter
