grey wolf 19rr ramp support

hello all, we just purchased a 2012 grey wolf 19rr, it seems to be in almost new condition, including the ramp has never had anything loaded on it, I have read that the door really does not support a lot of weight, our bike is about 800lbs and the door is rated at 1600lbs, I really would like to avoid driving up the ramp and build or buy some kind of ramp system that clears the ramp completely, any ideas???

I have a 26RR. Same ramp. Holds my 900 lb Valkyrie no problem. I extended ramp by 2 ft so I would not bottom out when loading. Just be careful both supports are on the ground equally. You could probably warp it if you were to far out.

There are two rubber bumpers on the top of the outside of ramp that set on the ground to support the ramp while loading. There are pictures on the 26RR section of my ramp extension. It also shows rubbers which I extended 2.5 inches.

I have 2014 27RR...first thing I did when putting the two Harley deluxes into the trailer was to gouge the diamond plate with side stand as it traversed the sill ! So after replacement I put a short length of 2 X 6 in the slot with an 8 inch wide by 20 inch long piece of 12 guage sheet metal screwed to the wood to deflect the sidestand and drilled traction holes in lower sheet metal for ''wet entry'' (I store it in the Trailers Chock Box)....then made a few more for friends with Greywolf RRs....I also run the hitch stand down to raise the front and decrease entry angle...best wishes juice

Goldwing loading

I have a gray wolf RR19, 2012 also, and have loaded my 1800 Gold wing several times. The door supports the weight OK. My problem was high siding under the mc engine at the door hinge point. I got a arched ramp which hinges in the middle to use for loading, and also jack the front of the trailer way up to load/unload. Gold wing weights about 900 lbs, plus my 240 lbs. Good luck

Photo of ramp to trailer, in position. Would actually have front jacked up to max. The 2x6 on the ramp are to allow my feet to easly contact the ramp while straddling the bike. Keep bike moving. the green board is loaded in first to support fork and kickstand. (may not be necessary, but gives me peace of mind). Good luck.

The green board is held in position by a plywood spacer that spaces it from the bathroom wall and another that spaces it from the rear wall. The rear spacer is notched to hold it in the side to side position. By the time the bike is on it, and the hold down straps are in place the whole thing is pretty secure. Been on some bumpy roads, and not seen any movement. boards are easy to install and remove, place them under the trailer on location. use to park on in the garage at home.

Ramp capacity

I had a 2011 19RR and loaded a 2006 gold wing, with me for total weight 1,100 lbs no problem. However underbelly will drag when front tire gets into trailer. I used a portable folding ramp that had a slight curvature to it. so the door saw no weight.
