Heavy ramp on TH ?
Because I am disabled and only able to lift about 15 #, the ramp on the 315wp presents a challenge if nobody is around to help. My solution is to increase the preload on the tortion springs with spacers.I tried some 3/4" pvc and it helped a little, but this is the ultimate solution! I began by cleaning out the inside of 1/2" conduit couplers so that the 1/2" conduit can be pushed straight thru.I then got some 1 1/4" id reinforced vynal hose and with the aid of a heat gun, pushed the pieces over the reamed couplers.I then glued the couplers to a stick of 1/2" conduit, one on each end,so that they can be finish trimmed with my mitre saw. The trimmed bushings are now placed over the tortion spring ends, thus increasing the preload tension.I made enough of them for both ends of each spring but only installed them on the ramp end. We dont want to have to put bricks on the end of the ramp to keep it on the ground! After checking the ramp operation tomorrow, I can fine tune the lift wieght with individual spring bushings on the bottom side.
