We added our trailer to our auto policy and it increased about 12 bucks a month. We have Met Life.

Those of you that are paying upwards of $465 from Allstate, you should shop around. Allstate's claim handling sucks. Progressive is very quick.
We have All state and pay nowhere near that amount. With $500 deductible we pay around $200/yr

Cost of individual polices can vary due to variables but at first glance it does seem like a big price gap. California isn’t cheap to live in but neither is New York. Your deductible is 10 times higher than mine but I wouldn’t expect that to account for the double price. Maybe it comes down to the amount RV is insurance for, personal items coverage and zip code.
I have done some comparisons with other insurance companies using higher deductibles and there wasn’t a big difference.

Great choice for "Living within my means" and camping for one...
