How much for insurance?

I just bought a new 21rr and paid Progressive $265 for the year. This is with $1000 deductible on comp and collision, no liability if someone comes to visit and falls out the door etc.

Just wondering if this is in line with others.

Your dedutibles seem pretty high to me. Im sure you can get them around the $250-$500 range for not too much more. Also, ask about personal effects coverage. You policy probably comes with $500 to $1000 in personal belongings coverage( or maybe $0). That is usually not nearly enough. Ask them to increase it.

I have a 2012 Salem with 250 comp and collision, emergency roadside service, and $3000 in personal belongings coverage for $380 per year.

That's roughly what I was paying with Allstate too. They just kept raising the rates on me over and over again so I finally switched. They kept dangling accident forgiveness at me put it just seemed like they were already charging me for an accident. Now I pay like $100 per year (bundled with my auto policy of course) for my 19RR. I hate switching insurance companies but I felt I had no choice in this case. I hope I never need it.

Adding it to my vehicle policy, I paid $100 with a $100 deductable. This was on top of my plates which was about $200 for 6 months.

Anybody have USAA?

I asked for full coverage, ended up with comprehensive and collision, said they don't do liability for trailers?

Hi!!

I have USAA. I have other products with them and I pay 165 a year for my 19RR.

The rule of thumb when you insure a trailer, you only pay for the non-automotive portion of a policy. When towing, your tow vehicle's policy will extend to your trailer.

I hope that helps....

Olga.

Progressive, $250 deductibles (comp/coll), $230 a year for my 19wp.

And yes, your liability coverages extend from your tow vehicle while the two are hooked together.

Those of you that are paying upwards of $465 from Allstate, you should shop around. Allstate's claim handling sucks. Progressive is very quick.

I would have to respectively disagree about the Allstate claims service. When hail got mine, they came right out and handled the claim. They actually wrote me a check for 2 grand more than I paid for the trailer. It's very unfortunate that their strategy is to charge so much up front though. That's what forced me to switch.

I have shopped around and currently Allstate is the right choice for a couple of reasons including the multi-policy discount. While I don't see much of a discount on my auto policy there is a really good discount on the homeowner policy that makes it worthwhile.

California is not a cheap state to live in and everything seems to cost more than some states. But even so I love it here especially with being able to camp 12 months out of the year.

If you happen to be 50+ and are an AARP member you can get very afordable insurance through The Hartford Insur. Co. Three vehicles and a new 19RR for just under $700 a year.
