Don't be surprised

Don't think that you need to jump ship on FR. It's gonna show up on occasion with ALL the other companies also.
I wish everyone would quit hammering Forest River. Yes..... Your going to run into issues with ALL makes and models.
Let's start posting about good things

JUST ENJOY THAT WE ARE BLESSED WE ARE ABLE TO GET TO THIS PLACE IN LIFE👍🏻👍🏻🌴🌴

Our 2014 Sabre 5th wheel had an actual safety recall on it for just that issue. I fixed it myself also.

Hello everybody,
I have to reply to the guys who with they comments defending Forest River and other manufacturers of RV's. some of them doing their job honestly and as suppose to be done, but most of them are not on that line.
Guys we have to have on our minds always that WE are conductors and WE are holding BATON, because WE are buying their products, without US their products will stay on the
lot for a months or years.
I'm not communist or socialist or syndicate guy, I'm a guy who respect the honest work and wiling to pay the right price for the product as all manufactures at their advertisements for their products.
How many dealership services rip off customers who do not know what was wrong with their RV's, how many of you are, who are not handy, pay rip off price ....?
PLEASE NAME THE THINGS WITH RIGHT NAMES AND ADDRESS THEM TO THE RIGHT PLACESES and everything will go in the our favor, because we are have a MONEY and we
are paying for their products for our fun ......
We can make AMERICA better .....!!!!!!

Sorry wuffwuff, I respectfully didagree. However it's designed is the responsible of the manufacturer. Quality control/testing/building should catch any design flaws.

This is an industry wide problem not just a Forest River problem, unfortunately this is how RVs have been made for years, my 1988 Terry had many of the same issues........... But they will probably say if they built them like our houses our 30K rig would cost 40-50K...also you would need a Freightliner to tow them......... and not defending anyone but my box cargo and my flat trailers have different manufacturers are built to the same standards or lack of them.

If you listen to all the negative I just can not understand why they just do not burn up or blow up everyday.

No doubt but in the grand scheme of things and of the millions that are built that is probably a small number. The question how many are manufacturing issues, maintenance issues, neglect issues, miss use, accidents etc.

This thread has taken an angy twist.I was not bashing FR directly, nor did I mean to imply that this only could happen on a FR product.. It was meant more as an aleart of a potentialy life threatining defect that is easily corrected and even more easily prevented at assembly time.Maybe my "tone" in the op was misinterprted but I know that not everyone gets under thier RV or other vehicles and just lays there looking at things like I do (drives my wife nuts). I tend to look at things with a "what if this would happen" attitude . I guess that being in the fab bussiness starting in 1965, and haveing designed/built more trailers over the years than I can remember warps my pov.

@trbomax,
I'm not angry or frustrated, I would like, only, for all of us, camper life lovers, to use our
customer power what we have to push RV manufacturers and adjust RV market in our favor.
I do not hesitate to fix anything on my RV, or learn how to do something what I do not know how, but how many people are out there who do not know how to do and manufacturers and dealers services know that VERY WELL and taking advantage of that.
It's to late when somebody get accident or crush their RV or worst case scenario get injured or killed because of somebody's greed for profit .....!!!!!

Typical crap installation. My brake wires are zip tied to the springs. Asked the dealership to check it out when in for service the third time this year. "No problem," they said, "they're all like that." I went out into their lot and crawled under another Wildcat, a Grand Design and a Montana. Nope, no brake wires zipped to springs. Liars!
