Maiden Voyage
Hey Gang,
First trip last weekend. Ended up staying until Monday. No big issues. T.V. antenna crank fell off in my hand but it was just a loose set screw.
The "Equalizer" can be embarrasing!!! Hard to sneek away early in the morning without waking the camp ground.
Already planning our next trip. Can't believe it's time to go back to work.
Be safe

Greg, if the Buell doesn't get one, My guess is the Indian or the harley. LOLOL
Congrats on the trip. I am trying to figure out why the equalizer was "embarrasing" , unless you didn't raise the tongue high enough to let the bars easily slip in place rather than clunk and have to break "balls" trying to leverage them in.

My crank also fell off, and after looking at the top of my trailer the boot around the cable to the antenna had worked up out of the groove, but I think there was enough caulking inside that no real damage.

Scuba Steve nailed it. The Indian gets the cover.
The equalizer hitch works great but did creak/moan while turning. From what I have read in this forum, the noise is typical. It just seems a little excessive to me. I will recheck my measurements when I return home.
Can regular wheel bearing grease be used on the hitch or do I need the special "Equalizer" grease?
Thanks All

NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok that said, here's why.
The Groan/pop/moan you hear is friction, which is the main ingredient in anti sway. This is what's keeping the trailer from rapidly moving laterally in cross wind, etc. You don't want to lube the flat point where your bar comes in contact with the brace support. The lube point is where your bar inserts into the hitch. the tiny gap between the swinging part and the hitch framing. This will help you move your bars side to side easily. 32" from the center of the Ball socket to the center of one of the holes on the brace is perfect. (Mine is a 1200/12000 lb hitch.....) Check on a flat surface for a level appearance between your TV and TRLR. Adjust the Supports on the trailer frame accordingly to get this.

Guess I should have figured the Indian as the Sporty and Buell belong to "Momma".
I'm with Steve on the grease.

I'm actually thinking some relative bearing grease would be best though.

Nice pics.
After some road trips, the Equal-i-zer will quiet down some. Mine only squealed when it was brand new...maybe the first season. She'd make noise after that...but not 'attention getting' loud...
