Mice

Falls here and the little critters are looking for a place to winter. I have a 27DFWP WolfPack with the under belly enclosure which I had installed when I ordered it to keep the critters out. The last couple of week ends camping we had company, mice. I just got the RV home this week and started to check where they could have gotten in. I found it. When the installed the enclosure the did an excellent job sealing every where except the rear where the wiring and fuel hose goes into the enclosure at the rear for the fuel tank. Not sure if they forgot it or they just don't seal there. It's sealed now.

So anyone that has the fuel tank and under belly enclosure might want to take a peek to see if they have the same holes before they get unwanted company.

I don't know about gasoline, but propane enclosures can't be sealed. It'd suspect it should be the same. One might consider some small opening expanded metal or hardware cloth instead of sealing it completely off. The electrical entrance can be sealed.

The gas tank is outside the enclosure. The line to the gen compartment and electric wire that feeds the gas pump which is also outside the enclosure are the only parts going into the enclosure so no venting needed.

Can't help with the mice but I would love to see how you enclosed the under belly! I am thinking of doing the same and insulating it so that I can camp in colder climates.....

The underbelly enclosure was an option from Forest River when I ordered the RV. They used a corrugated plastic that looks like cardboard but is black in color. It looks like they put it in the frame before the tanks and floor is installed because it is screwed down from the top.

If you could take a picture of your underbelly, that would be awesome.

Does it run the full length of the trailer or just from the front to past the water tank? Do you have a duct ran down there?

I am thinking of enclosing mine for some cold weather camping but would like to see one done.

THanks

The enclosure is between the 2 main rail frames and goes from behind the generator compartment to just before the fuel tank in the rear.

Sorry but can't attach pics as they need to be resized and so far over an hour and can't find a way to do it.

I know this is a bit of an older thread, but for anyone that has the underbelly enclosure what about the holes where the slides go in and out? We have done our best to seal up everything, haven't had any more squirrels but we had mice again over the fall/winter.
Not sure what we could be missing underneath.
From inside, I know the only place they can be getting up is under the tub. Anyone have any luck sealing up that huge hole in the floor?
We have a Sierra 321BHT.
