Missing Fresh Water

Hello all, I finally got to take out my 2016 26RR Limited.
I left with a full tank of fresh, I know it was full for sure, when I got to camp the gauge showed 1/3 tank.
I thought the gauge was messed up, only me on this trip so I know how much water I used. Washed dishes once, a couple quick showers, ran out on Sunday.
I am wondering if there is a crack in the top of the tank?
A cracked fitting would not loose that much water I don't think, only drove it around 100 miles.
Before I take it to the dealer I want to look at it quick, any ideas?
Has anyone else had this issue?

Some have attributed this to water siphoning out the overflow and/or vent hoses. Some have found their fresh water drain pipe to be leaking.

Hmmmm... Siphoning out the overflow would make sense...
Lost about 30 gallons, cracked fitting would not leak out that much.
I always notice water coming out the overflow, which I saw, but dont think much of it while driving with it sloshing around.
Wonder if anyone else had problems with the siphoning out and how to prevent it...

Also keep in mind your usable water capacity will be much less than advertised. The tank doesn't fill all the way full and does not empty all the way either. Usually included in your fresh water total is your water heater holding capacity. This is misleading because once your freshwater is empty you can't pump water from the heater anyway. Factor in water spilling/siphoning out during travel and the 40 gallons you thought you had becomes much less in reality. Some people do put valves in there fill/vent lines to minimize water loss.

You would be amazed on how much water is used in a quick shower. Especially if you have not switched out factory head to a more efficient one. Until I get a 10 gal water can if I'm not at full hook ups I use the CG shower. That gives us three days on a full reading tank. I only travel with tank 1/3 full and top off at campground. Just enough to use during travel and boondocking.
