Movin' on up!

So, after 19 years of Popup camping, we decided to ditch the crank and are trading in the old 2004 Flagstaff 625D, our 2nd PU, for a brand spanking new 2017 Cherokee Grey Wolf 17BH 23' TT!!! We take delivery this Saturday, 2/4, and couldn't be more happy.

How does everyone else like their Grey Wolves? I have heard good things so far. Any advice for a new hard-side owner?

The grey wolf would be the next choice, if we would not had found the Vibe, my wife wanted so bad. It's a lot of bang for the buck and also it sure does look good too.
congratulations to your new TT!

I love my grey wolf. A lot of camper for the money. We camped over 45 days in it last year. Going for 56 this year. If buying new look real close during PDI and turn on everything and open everything. Don't let them say it's winterized that you can't test the plumbing. Have them dewinterize it, test all plumbing then rewinterize it. Don't want to get home and on your first trip in spring find you have leaks.

Enjoy

Good advice! It appeared to be winterized because I saw the drips of antifreeze in the sink when we looked at it, so I will have them hook up the water for a test, plus I want them to show me how to winterize it. Thank you.

Good plan.
Basic RV 101 things like winterizing/dewinterizing, sewer valve hook-up/operation, fresh tank fill/drain, low point drains are things often taken for granted or simply not touched on by the dealer. It is best to have them go over EVERYTHING. Ask lots of questions if you are unsure. The dealers job it to educate you on your new purchase.

Congrats and most of all ENJOY!

Thanks!

Thanks for the good advice so far (and I am sure more will follow because everyone is great on this site!). I have a note pad with questions to ask, and now I have a couple more to add to the list.

It's like Christmas as a kid, Saturday is taking too long to get here!!!

Anything and I mean ANYTHING which might be a bit confusing or the dealer starts to stumble or stammer about, make them go thru that step again and video record it either with your cell phone or better yet, take a video camera with you and record the entire PDI.

My dealer said "Everything is covered in the owner's manual" ~ Right! You'll get a pile of manuals so bad you'd think it's your 1st day in Jr. High School!!

I'm not familiar with your unit, but if yours has an entertainment system ~make sure everything works properly.
Have them pull a tire off and make sure the spare tire & rim fit properly. Power awning, they're proud of that, what about manual operation? (they don't go over that too well)

Not trying to scare you, just make your dealer is an honest individual and you'll be even happier.

Congrats on the new TT, have fun and enjoy! By the way ~ hope you saved up enough for all the new stuff you & the DW might 'accidentally' want to go along with it ~ LOL! Welcome to the world of hard siders.

Congrats, I currently have a 2015 625D. We love it but can't wait until we can move up to real walls and less time assembling. Getting cramped with two kids and a large dog. Enjoy it. Happy camping.

Excellent idea! Great advice about the awning as well, didn't think about manual operation if motor goes out or loss of power. Thanks!

Good advice above.

Don't give the dealer the big check and don't sign anything until you have completed your PDI and everything is fixed 100%. Once some dealers get your money they are on to the next deal and you can stand in line to get something fixed. I wouldn't drive off a car dealer's lot with a broken brand new car. No reason to either pay for or take home even a slightly broken camper.

Congratulations on the new camper.

Thanks! We really enjoyed our 625D, but, as you said, with two grown teenagers and a dog, (and getting a little older) it does get cramped. We'll see how I feel after screwing up the black water tank and get poop all over me, but until then, it will be fun.

Our new rig!

Our home away from home is home! The walk-through was very thorough and all of our questions were answered. Everything was demonstrated and in working order. we were very impressed from sales, to finance, to delivery.

I do believe that we will be heading out very soon!

Take your own movie DVD, music CD, usb drive with music or movie on it, VCR tape if appropriate and run all of them. I've seen stories about folks who couldn't figure out how to get one or more of these working!

And, most importantly -
