New 2017 26RR owner!

Just stopping in to say howdy!
Picked her up today from San Antonio RVs in Seguin, TX.
We are pleased with the sales experience we had, and can't wait to take her out for a test drive in Bandera next month for the motorcycle rally.

We've had ours for 18 months and enjoy it.

I did a cursory search and will get a better inspection of the chain set up when we get home.
I didn't see anything specific on the table, but the home computer will probably be easier for me to search later. I know I read a lot of owners ditch it and get a different one though. It seemed to be a pain in the butt to fold up and down, and doesn't lay flat.

It's our first RV. I actually wanted a Jeep Wrangler, but this was cheaper, and our daughter will have more fond memories of this than mama having a Jeep! (She's 5)

We're excited. We had bought an old pop up a couple years ago that needed a complete re-do. Got a new floor installed and realized we didn't really have the time anymore.

We met one dealer who was awesome. He knew we weren't buying that day but spent a lot of time with us explaining the towing capabilities, what to look for, etc. if they weren't so far away, we would have bought from them. (Ron Hoover, Rockport, TX)
met another dealer who tried to sell us a unit that would have definitely blown our truck up. Very pushy guy. When we backed out he kept letting us know we were going to miss out on the "deal of a lifetime".

The 26RR has a heavy hitch weight when not loaded to allow for the weight of toys being at or behind the axles. Weight at the rear takes weight off the hitch and is really necessary to balance the weight somewhat.
Most of the storage is basically towards the front of the trailer - under the bed, in the pass through, wardrobes, bathroom, and fridge. So try to find either a toy for the rear [emoji12] or some boxes of stuff you can put under the dining seats to keep the hitch weight from being too high. The fresh water tank is centered over the front axle so water in there is probably not adding much to the hitch weight.
Loaded without a toy and with a half tank of water my hitch was measured at 925lbs! I have not measured it with the bike in.
Good luck with your prep for the first trip. We slept in ours and used everything we could in our driveway for a few nights first and then made our first few days away local to get everything right and ensure there were no problems. There was one minor issue which the dealer fixed pretty quickly for us.
Ours is currently at the dealers outside warranty unfortunately getting the water a tank looked at to see if it is sitting where it should. [emoji853]

The 26RR is an excellent balance of value and features in a half ton towable toy hauler. We've had ours since April of this year and love its flexibility. We were so happy to find a walk around bed and full width bathroom space. This forum is a treasure trove of advice and suggestions. Members such as Riderbloke and rmac04401 have been especially insightful. My ongoing farkling of our 26RR can be traced back to their inspiration.

Lessons learned thus far for us include:

The AC ductwork and vents were not properly sealed. I found out why the the AC seemed to struggle when I realized most of the cold air was blowing into the attic and the return was pulling from the attic instead of the interior living space.

Sealed the huge hole in the floor underneath the shower pan with expanding foam. Also sealed smaller holes under the bed, bath sink and kitchen sink.

Added addition sewer hose storage since the dump valve is towards the front of the trailer and many sites we stay on have the sewer connection at the rear of the site.

Enjoy your new purchase. As you can see there is a good following of people who love this camper. By the end of this season we will have 45 nights this year.
