I think I remember reading way back that you could order one from FR but are very costly.

I had the dealer install a helmet rack on the drivers side. I'll post pics when I get a chance.

Not the best photo. I will get more when I go out to the campground this weekend. Dealer charged $250 installed.

Here are few more photos. The only thing the dealer couldn't do was install a light underneath like on the passenger side. And the cube is what we use to store everything in.

I'm working on a set for this position also and am part way through building them. Made a base first, then a front, then four doors, staining them. Will post more photos when I put them in. They will be attached to rear wall, ceiling, side wall, and kitchen cabinets (with an extra brace inside). About 14" tall (good for large cereal boxes from Sam's), & just 7" deep to make the screen Velcro still useable.
Here they are in the making (still).

I'm a very slow worker - learning and designing as I go. I made these narrow because I wanted them screwed to the rear wall but I want the Velcro also useable. Also I don't want the rear to feel too cramped as that's where we mostly live.
Hope it all works out OK. 2 more projects in mind after this.

I put in some cabinets that I bought from Home Depot. I couldn't get the color to match, but it gave us more room for the kid's clothes.

I posted the final result somewhere else - I should have consolidated all my modification posts into one long topic.
Anyway my cupboards are in but not yet used. There are also no latches or struts on the doors as there is a small design difficulty there which I have yet to solve.
Also underneath I have put a set of 5 LED lights from Sam's club and the are self powers, color changeable, and remote controlled. (No photo yet)

I have also just assembled a storage set from Sam's club - $109.99 complete with storage boxes - to go on the RH side when I remove the seat unit. I will probably put a ⅜" plywood back on this unit and screw it securely to the wall. It is to be positioned to leave room for the motorcycle straps from the two D rings to the bike. On either side I may end up having some way to secure a chair etc for use with the Walmart table we have.

The LH seat will also be replaced with a seat unit that will pull out to a full sized bed. I hope it will also be more comfortable as a couch than the present unit. There will be some storage underneath also of course. This is the sort of construction I intend to use.

I've a little work to do in the basement after the flood and an awning motor to replace on the RV so there are projects still to keep me happy until I go to Habitat in Dade City in November.

I’m thinking along the same lines you are with cabinets from either Home Depot or Lowe’s. Been looking at both for prices and color to match. How did you mount them ? How long are the cabinets? I’m thinking 2 - 36 inch uppers to mount horizontally. Also do you have any pics ? Or I’ll go the route riderbloke did.

I posted how I did it on the Pimp my 26RR thread. Basically used 1 by’s to build a frame, then screwed it into the studs.

Pics are towards the bottom.

Hey Mxdad Why did you leave space between the existing cabinets and the new ones. Thinking about doing the same thing to my Catalina 26TH but thinking about butting up to the originals. Only problem is finding the studs, my electronic stud finder is no working.

I left the space there for storage....since we homeschool, that is a convenient place to store the laptops.

Finding the studs isn’t hard....look for staples, but the studs are only 1x’s so make sure you get it nice and centered and go slow.

I was able to get the blue print from Coachman, but it really does not seem to be all that accurate. I have found a couple of the studs but would really like to find all that are there to be sure I can get a really good grip through the cabinet.

I may try the old put a hole in the wall trick down at floor level and then hope the studs go straight up the wall.

Overhead cabinets

I just purchased a 2000 1725 pack 12 that the prior owner had installed extra cabinets in the garage and bathroom, and some modifications to kitchen cabinets. If anyone wishes to see pictures, I will try to get them posted later. The installer ordered the matching materials directly from Forest River.

Riderbloke, how did you attach the top front rail to the ceiling ? I'm also considering the same kind of build you did. or did you attach a cleat to the front rail at the ceiling and run it to the back wall and screw into ceiling studs ?
