rkswyo,
What size folding shelf brackets did you use?
What are the measurements of the extension shelf? Did you get these on e-bay?

The brackets are 8" and the table tops are roughly 14" x 16". I got them off of ebay. I had a link for the table tops in an earlier post.

CQ - Great idea on the swim noodles. Good way to kind of pad the sharp corners of the door too. I would think simple pipe wrap would suffice as well. The swim noodles are brightly colored and could completely trash my bad a** biker guy image. That in and of itself would be tragic.
Its a great idea that could save you a gash down the legs in the dark if you misjudged space after a campfire and beers. . Not that I'd know about that kind of thing...

that was my exact thought Sportster....not trash your " bad ***** biker" image...but see the edge of the ramp after an evening of adult beverages in sippy cups!

Well I final got a chance to complete a few more modification on the 19RR. I started with a few of the simple changes that you all have already finished. Thank for the ideas and inspiration. I found Formica covered shelves and folding brackets at the RV surplus store near my home.

I place one at the end of the kitchen counter and another one the cabinet next to the couch.

I placed a third shelf on the cabinet near the bed and by positioning it just right it acts as a stop for the dinning table. I plan to add a nylon strap to hold it in place for traveling.

I fixed up the bathroom with some towel bars from Wally World and a upgrade to the shower curtain.

I also found some of the cargo door holders at the RV store that work perfect for holding front cabinet door open. For 50 cents each they are perfect fix.
I have ordered the doors for the under bed storage which I will tackle next when they arrive, along with the sprucing up the outside storage compartment. Then there is the spar tire holder, the rear screen, sewer hose storage and the list goes on. oh and some CAMPING!!!

I did run into one surprise and disappointment while working on my unit. I had the stereo on and noticed a rattling noise coming from one of the speakers so took it down. What I found was piece of scrap wire that was laying on the back of the speaker, no biggie. The surprise and disappointment was that I found roof space was filled with shredded upholstery material and chunks of foam for insulation.
Has any body else found this?

I could use one of those cargo door openers on the OH cabinet with the oven pans for sure. It hurts when I use my head to prop it open so both hands can be free to reach and search.

I found the same thing.! Pretty cheesy in my opinion. My speakers were rattling as well. Nice suprise when it all dumps out on you! I bought some foam "speaker cans" and solved the problem. I also upgraded the speakers and they sound much better than the stock ones. I try to find a link for the speaker cans and post it.

These are the baffles I bought. It should keep all the ground up "insulation" from getting into the speakers. That insulation stuff has a strong odor to it also!

They sell the woodgrain tape that matches the factory stuff. I used clear pine and covered it with the tape. I used "L" brackets to fasten the upper rail to the ceiling. You will need to notch the trim strips on the ceiling to accept the upper rail. On the center stile I used metal tie plates because I wanted to strengthen it. I may install some more brackets after some of the glue dries. My cabinet was sagging in the middle and I had to "jack" it up to get everything squared up. One other note. Make sure you pre-drill all the holes for any screws you use.

rkswyo, You mentioned that you used wood grain tape on clear pine. Where did you find the tape that matched the factory material?

I got it directly from Forest River as well as all the cabinet doors and hardware. I think they have it in two different widths. It is exactley the same as they use in the original construction.

Cheesy is a good way to put it. I was less than impressed by their idea of insulation (more like an insult). I placed some fiberglass batting around both speakers for now. I also plan to make an upgrade later, perhaps on the entire system.

.
The bad thing about it is that after time it will probably settle out from vibration and you will loose the R-value. I was shocked and disapointed also, along with a few other things they did to save costs. I do however really like the trailer. Great floorplan for my needs. I looked at many others and kept coming back to the 19rr. Nice trailer for the money.
Fiberglass batting was a good idea. I never thought of that!

I will call Jamie at the factory back on Monday to add the tape to my order. Thanks a bunch. Have you had any luck with the spare tire carrier?

Not yet. I have been too busy but plan to tackle it soon. I am getting tired of hauling it in the back of my truck. I had the spare out from under my son's S10 the other day and kind of eye-balled the way they had the spare tire winch attached and don't think it would be a big deal to do something similar under the 19rr.
