It's wasted space. Rmac04401 has it right. I use it as pantry. It can all be restored if needed when I sell.

You can pull the fake rock wall off and see for yourself. There are 4 screws holding the rock wall and you will have to remove the tv mount. There is a board behind the tv mount for support, you will see what i mean when you get it pulled off. After you take it off you will be able to put it back on just as easily. I will take some pics and post them today to show what i did. And i thought this was a waste of space too, not sure why someone would think that was a good idea.

I have a theory. Forum writers complained a lot about how small the TV was that fitted onto the rear wall of that space. False front gives a bit more TV width. Just my speculation.

Hi Statticcling...what length gas struts did you use for the upper cabinet doors? Thanks Vern

I added them myself, 10", these are what I installed: Durable Hydraulic Gas Strut Lift Support Kitchen Door Cabinet Hinge Spring Brass | eBay

Others said they used the 50NM but they where not available, I think I had to go with the 80nm but they work fine. This is basically the amount of force they push out, so mine have more power! The instructions did not work for me, I had to mount them different. I think I had to have the top mounted higher, otherwise they would not close. Mess with one, get it to work then measure for the rest of them, piece of cake after the first one. MAKE SURE YOU DRILL PILOT HOLES! I was actually impressed, the wood is pretty hard, broke a screw or 2 screwing it in. Pretty simple mod but a must have for sure!

i used apexstone 100n/22.5lbs they r 10.6 inches .12.99 on amazon for 2 .,they work well and i added them to all the doors. i am going to try them on the bed to see if they would hold that up as well .i think i had to reverse the mounting tabs from the way the directions said to mount it.

Very easy install and gives most space to open the fan top.

Fixed leak in black water tank flush. Thought it was coming from the cheap plastic vacuum break. Replaced with metal one. Found out the black plastic clamp they had on hose was not tight. Click image for larger version

Added another LED light by the front door where it was dark. Looks like it came this way. Got light off amazon same manufacture and model number as rest. Attached to the other lights in the circuit with the switch. Eventually will be putting in a dimmer on that circuit.

So called insulation in ceiling. At least not as bad as vermiculite insulation that was in my 1920's first house.
