Propane tank area

Hey y’all, I noticed that the propane tank storage areas do not have a bottom on them. Has anyone built anything to close that area off? I have those little finch birds and a lot of mud dauber wasps around and want to try to prevent them from finding a home in there. Any help (especially pics) is greatly appreciated.

The propane tank areas cannot be sealed due to Code. Propane is heavier than air so no bottom is installed to allow it a way out of the compartment if there is a leak.

Some screen door mesh ought to keep the bugs and birds out while still allowing the propane to vent.

X2 what Redldr1 said. Some screen or hardware cloth is all you should put under there.
