question about 25rr

Picked up our 2014 25rr, was really excited about our new toy hauler. Pulled it all the way out to O.K. and back ( 4400 km round trip). I think it was one of our best investments yet (besides the new gmc that we bought a couple of years ago, lol). My questions is, what would you do if you noticed that the weight distribution hitch was only rating for 800 lbs and your toy hauler has a dry hitch weight of 857 lbs? The hitch was included in the sale of the trailer.

We have a 2014 25RR too. Bought weight dist. hitch at time of sale. I just checked the hitch ratings and are: 15,000lb trailer weight, tongue weight determined by pull pin hole position 1,500lb or 1,000lb. I would contact dealer and question that hitch. Possible they pulled the wrong one off shelf? Hope this helps some.

Thanks, I called the dealer today, he started to say that when you put a load in the back of the trailer it would reduce the weight on the tongue. then he went on to say that the round bars are the ones rated for the 800 lbs and if I wanted the 1000 lbs bars he would swap them out but the actual portion that the ball is on would stay the same. I have an RV-pro, model #22-8201, it has a gross trailer weight of 10 000 lbs. I'm really new to all this stuff, I have pulled lots of trailers but nothing that ever required a weight distribution hitch.
Is this dealer correct with his answer that it's just the bars that are rated for the 800 lbs?

Your dealer is correct to a point. The head of the hitch should stay the same up to a 15k hitch and the bars will change however your toy hauler if it has a 10 k gross rating. The hitch should be a min. of 1000lbs if you are less then 10 to 15 % of your gross on the hitch, you WILL have a swaying issue. But I know my WA2313 Stealth never loses hitch weight as I load they are designed to keep the hitch at a min of 10% even when loaded. The water tanks will add 8pounds a gallon and most of this will be felt on the hitch.
Get the bigger bars from your dealer. Hope this helps
