Rear Door/Ramp 27DFWP

Hi All,
We were just curious how many of you are using your Ramp/Door on your toy hauler as a deck??? Also just curious what you place under the Door for support off the ground. We had the perfect campsite this weekend to have a deck. We did put the door down and roll down the screen wall but it would've been great to have a little deck. Thanks for any advice or input you can give us.

We just puchaed a 23DFWP and talked to the dealer about this very issue. They said other folks have used blocks of wood, buckets, and metal brackets that sound similar to what others have posted in earlier responses.

Haven't completed it yet, but will soon. Check my gallery and you can see I used firewood in one spot. I ordered 2 scissor jacks from Lippert for about 50 bucks. I then cut a 2x4 and used a dremel to make cut outs for the rubber bumpers. I have blind nuts, got at Lowes, to put in the 2x4's, and then thumbscrew the jacks to the 2x4. This will allow me to use 2 jacks to level things on uneven ground, and minimize any twist stress on the tailgate. I hope this explains things. Will post pics sometime as I complete this project, maybe next week. Lippert had the best price on jacks, the same style as used on the corners of my trailer, and use the same 3/4 inch socket/tool.

i have seen a cool set up using cables from the ramp to the frame, this allowed the ramp to be hung out across uneven ground

when we purchased ours through lakeshore rv we had the ramp room installed and it came complete with stanchions, i believe it was a carefree brand ramp room.

Finally finished my project of making supports so I can use the ramp door of my Toy Hauler as a deck. I took a shortened two by four, and made cutouts for the rubber bumpers that normally rest on the ground. I bought two scissor jacks from Lipppert, and and have them fastened to the two by four with two 5/16 inch thumb screws. I used blind nuts installed in to the two by four. This should allow me to get my support level on uneven ground and spread the weight across the tailgate. Total cost, about $65.00. I got the jacks for about $40.00 delivered. 1 two by four, and $15.00 worth of blind nuts, thumb screws, and washers from Lowe's.

This is a great idea and I think I will be making a identical one. Was very worried after friends warned that too many jumping grand children can warp out the ramp door. The only difference I think I will use treated wood with the scissor jacks.
