Spare tire

After finding out that mounting the tire to the cargo door would void the warranty I looked for something different. I also tried the jack up cable method the dealers sell. Really junk. So here is what I came up with. Made a carrier out of 1-1/2" angle. 3 pcs 3x12' plate and 4 hinges. Mounts to the rear crossmember with 2 hinges. Attaches to the bumper with the hinges welded between the other 2 plates . Works great. Easy to get to and locks in place .

Nice work, ingenious idea. Would do mine, but I'm too old to be getting down on the ground to get the spare out. Will leave mine on the bumper all by itself. I can unbolt it and let it fall.
