Then your setting on source on tv would be component. I can't believe I'm 2015 they don't have a system with blue ray and hdmi. Of course too much money probably.

Here's my 2cents learned from camping this summer:
1. The over-stove hood vent opens from outside. Flip a couple of tabs and it swings free. Just remember to close it before you pulll out. Lots of posts on here about them blowing out while on the road. If it's not opened when cooking the smoke detector will go off. 😂

2. The electric switch for the water heater is really hard to find. It is buried behind all the tubes and pipes on the lower left side. Once you see it you'll wonder how you missed it.

3. Because of the bend in the pipe going into the black tank it clogs easily. Happened to us twice so I bought a snake to keep in my tool kit. I'd blame it on DW but she is probably not the only responsible one. NOTE: HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS HAPPEN? JUST TRYING TO FIGURE OUT IF THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW OR A PROBLEM WITH MY UNIT ONLY.

Thanks. One other quick thing which is probably stupid question. As for the water heater. As soon as I connect to a water source does that auto fill water heater and safe to turn on or do I need to fill that manually somehow? And do I drain that before I leave? I'm such a newbie

As long as your bypass valve are not turned to block water from going in it fills automatically. If you open your outside cargo door and look thru yo will see your water heater on other side. There is a small piece of Luan protecting it. Also you can see the valves if you lift up board under mattress and can see the valves.

As far as emptying it. That is a discussion of debate if you empty every time or just when you winterized it. To empty you would make sure switches are turned off. Open pressure relief valve. Then I think it's a 1 1/4 inch socket unscrew the price that looks like a octagon plug. This is a piece to prevent your tank from corrosion. Once that is loosened then the water will pour out.

Make sure not in bypass top and bottom valves inline (on) Center valve cross line (off). Turn on water and open faucets until air stops coming out. Then turn on hw switch (for gas) or 115v switch on heater lower left (for electric) or both for quick recovery

I do not drain mine until I winterized. With you being in FL you probably won't need to winterized

Chipbruce - never had the black drain clog, just seems harder to get this one cleaned out more than my past trailer.

drb1984 you will most likely not ever have to winterize your rig...
So don't even look into how you have to do it...
I hate you...

I didn't see anyone mention to be sure you use plenty of water to flush the toilet when you need to flush "solids". Yes, it will cause your black tank to fill quicker, however, it's worth it as clogged toilet pipes is not much fun. Dumping more often is a very small price to pay for a working, non-plugged toilet, believe me!

Thanks RSchleder. We use tons of water and even start with extra in the bowl. We notice a problem when water starts backing up in the plumbing. This pipe has an elbow in it and I'm starting to think it has a problem where it goes into the tank. Maybe some plastic wasn't removed when they attached it to the tank? Just trying to find out if my experience is normal or unique.

A good way to find out if anything is in your waste pipe is to run a small "plumbers snake" down the pipe and give it some push/pull action to clean any foreign material out. I wouldn't be surprised if there is some manufacturing residue anywhere in these units as we still have white sawdust emulating from wall to floor seams after a year.
Sounds like you have a nice unit. Enjoy

My guess, and I better not have this again on this rig!
My last camper, the cut out for the tank was still in the tank!
I would drain the black tank and it would flow full force then all of a sudden it would just trickle out, lived with it for years just thought that is how it is supposed to go. I did a fill and flush of the black tank a few times to clean it out really good, I was looking down the toilet to see the level and that it was cleaned out. I saw a piece of plastic float by, the size of the cutout. I never was able to get the toilet off to remove it.
I sure hope Forest River does not leave those in there too.
