If you do decide to buy one of these, make sure to get the 2018 version. I’m sure there are lots of pre-2018 models out there, still for sale. The 2018 version is greatly improved over the previous models because they have fixed the only problem with this unit, which was the left side temps were higher than the right side. This was a well-known and often-discussed topic in all of the pellet grilling/smoking forums I participate in. But, even before the 2018 model came out, this was an excellent piece of equipment for those who like to cook this way. If you do happen to end up with a pre-2018 model, you will still be impressed and happy with the Davy Crockett.

For the versatility this “grill” gives you, the price is great.

We love our 17” Blackstone! We have a hose that connects to the trailer propane so it’s super easy to set up.

We have tried several different portable grills and finally broke down and bought the Weber Q2000 early last year and will never look back. no more burnt food or one steak well done and another rare.

Use it with a portable 20# tank for convenience. Cooks very evenly, no hot spots. fits easily in the bottom storage of our current MH and fit well in the previous toyhauler.

Blackstone griddle and a PitBoss tailgater pellet grill. I just bought the pellet grill and I will probably never go back to propane.

I just bought a 22" Blackstone Griddle, had a hard time finding one in stock. First tried Amazon, they had a listing for one that was prime with a 1 to 2 month shipping time, no thanks!

I then tried local, no one had the 22" so I googled the gridle and found one in stock on the HSN website, never purchased from them before but because I signed up I got a 15% discount on my first purchase. Total price with shipping and the discount was $130.35 with an adapter hose. Don't need the hose, I already had the quick disconnect hose for the Blackstone griddle.

For grilling I use a LiL Joe charcoal grill.

I was walking through Walmart this morning and saw a 22" Blackstone Griddle w/Lid and stand for $147.

It can be either table top or on the stand. It uses 1lb bottles and comes with the hose to connect to a grill-sized propane tank. Here is the big seller for me---the only thing that gets dirty on the griddle is the REMOVABLE griddle itself. This means I can get all the food/grease, etc cleaned off and store the grill in m trailer without fear of attracting vermin, ants, etc. This is something I could never do with the current propane grill.

What I am not sure about is if this thing cooks steaks well. We cook burgers and steaks the majority of the time.

Any feedback on how good steaks are on the griddle?
I just bought this griddle and absolutely love it, I also have a webber Q, I was on vacation, I set them both up, and never used my webber. I also have them so I can use the quick connects from my fiver.

Question for you guys converting your grills and griddles to the quick connect.

Does anyone make a hose that connects directly to the grill/griddle 1lb fitting to the quick connect fitting on the trailer without changing any parts on the grill/griddle? Ive seen a few conversion kits that replace the fittings on the grill but then you cant use the 1lb bottles without changing it back. Not difficult but inconvenient.

Id like to be able to use a quick connect hose and a 1lb bottle interchangeably as I sometimes use the grill/griddle when not camping. BTW they are WeberQ and Blackstone17 if it matters.

My trailer came with a stainless grill that the PO converted but has no flame adjustment, I have to adjust the flame using the on/off valve on the quick connect fitting which is a pain and dangerous. I assume it originally came with a regulator/flame control combo that was removed.

You have to make a choice but can't have both.

The fitting you are asking about for the 1lb bottle is a high pressure fitting that is then followed by a pressure regulator to drop the pressure for the appliance.

The low pressure conversion eliminates the fitting and the regulator and delivers low pressure propane to the burned. I doubt you will ever find an adapter with that high pressure fitting that isn't followed by a regulator as it would allow someone to accidentally connect a high pressure tank to the appliance without a regulator.

As the FlyBob stated, you cannot have both connected at one time. The regulator on your camper take high pressure gas and drops it down to low pressure for your appliances to use. The regulator on your grill does the same. You cannot connect them both at one time because you will get no gas to your grill through the second regulator.

That said, you could put a quick connect (male) fitting directly on your grill. Then get:

1. A hose with a female quick connect on one end and Male on the other. This will connect your grill to the camper low pressure quick connect.

2. an additional female quick connect attached to the output side of your original regulator that uses the small bottles.

This way you could use whichever you desired.

This would not be inexpensive as the female quick connects run around $35, but as I said, it can be done if you want to badly enough.

Personally I put two female quick connects side by side on my camper and I run my grill and a 3 burner cast iron burner setup at the same time.

The kit I used for my Weber add a female connect for the rv quick connect. It also provides another quick connect for the oem reg so it can be easily changed back and forth for qd or portable.

I set it up the same with the kit I made for my Coleman roadtrip.

We bought a Weber Q2000. We love it so far, although it is a little big, and sometimes we wish we would have went for the Q1000.

Right now I'm in the process of gathering parts to convert it to Low Pressure so we can connect it to the House propane. I'm also going to add a 2nd Quick Connect valve to the camper, that way we can run the outdoor stove and the grill at the same time.
