OVERKILL

My current TV (2004 F350 dually) is way overkill for the 26RR. I don't worry about hauling a full water tank even with the two 4 wheelers and two motorcycles. I have a WDH but only hook it up on a long haul. Have no issues with wander or braking when in tow/haul mode.

The Prodigy P2 does make a world of difference for the trailer braking. I needed the P2 when I was pulling with my 2004 Excursion. The springs in the EX were soft and pushed the TV bad. I installed airbags, the P2 and upgraded the flexible brake lines on the EX. With the WDH and it towed as it should. Before the mods every truck that passed started the trailer sway due to heavy tongue weight on the soft rear end of the EX.

The upgraded TV is for the next trailer that will be a FT event upon retirement.

Hey rotorhead, this is rotherhead also and I say no such this as over kill when towing. Bigger tow vehicles make it a pleasure.

Pulling with a 2015 Ram 1500 Hemi, Cold Air Induction, 3.92 Trans, 32 Gal Fuel, Factory Trailer Brakes, Husky Centerline TS WDH. Pulls the 26RR beautifully. Even with the best setup these Oklahoma winds can be a little butt clinching at times. Averaging 10-11 MPG cruising at 60-65 again depending on wind direction and terrain.

I pull my 26rr with a 2002 f150 short bed 4x4 with AT tires. 5.4 l engine, 3.55 rear, Extra HD auxiliary trans cooler, firestone air ride bags, husky centerline TS hitch. Have gone over 7000 miles and it's good. I don't fly up mountains but neither do the tractor trailers.

I am pulling with a 2003 F250 Super Duty 7.3l Diesel. I brought it home 50 miles with (what I found to be after the fact, a 5000lb drop hitch HF model). Since then I purchased an experienced (used) Andersen WD hitch. I didn't notice any issues without it, but why take chances. I have not pulled with RZR 570 in the back yet, hoping to try this weekend. Absolutely no issues so far, electric brake was installed when I bought truck, it is slightly lifted and 35" tires, wide with aggressive tread.
I love pulling the Toy hauler up to a cliff or overlook and opening the ramp door.
I store at home between garage and Motorcycle trailer, only 40" max on either side. Painted a red line to help line up (Pic) but this Camper is easy to maneuver!

I pull my 26RR with a 3/4 ton GMC with the 454. Last week I pulled in winds well over 50 MPH, I could not imagine if I only had a half ton. I remember thinking that the whole way while being blown around. That is a lot of sail for a lighter truck, my truck weight is over 6000lb. You can not have to much truck...

What are you towing your 26RR with?

I am upgrading from a 2002 f150 5.4l 3.55 rear. To 2011 2500, 5.7 hemi 3.73 rear. I pick it up next week when bank opens.

I will have payload to spare.

Purchased my 2018 26RR on May 1st. Have put 2917 miles on the truck trailer since that day. Purchased an Equalizer brand WD/Sway control hitch rated for 10K (the one with the bars, not chains) from Etrailer.com. I bought the hitch a couple weeks before picking up trailer. I think that is a must if you are using a 1/2 ton truck. My TV is a 2016 F150 Crew Cab with 3.5 EcoBoost and 3.55 gears, Trailer tow with factory brake controller. This setup has worked out great! Just got back from Florida and I live in Missouri. Didn't take any toys with me but did have a full fresh water tank. Had no problems running 70mph uphill in the smokies and let tow/haul mode do it's thing downhill. in the long straits I could run 75-80mph with no sway. whole setup is rock solid.

hmm, guess I'm the only one towing without a truck. my tv is a 2013 jeep grand Cherokee hemi.rated to tow 7200 lbs.dry weight of tt listed as 5000.fully loaded with a rzr and gear(no water) the tt weighed in at 7180lbs.total of whole setup was 13020.towed just fine.without the toy in the back I had to move the propane tanks to the rear along with some gear to get the tongue weight right.plenty of power, brakes felt great but the wind pushed me around a bit.adding airbags this week

Ron, now that you’ve used the Ram, whit kind of gas mileage you getting?
Pulling my 26RR home, with my F150 3.5 EB I was getting around 11 mpg. Pretty flat land. Haven’t had a chance, yet, to get it out and really see what it will do! Considering Airlift Bags.

I get on average around 10. Which is better than when I had f150 with 5.4l. I get a little better on flat land and a little less in mountains. Going to Elkhart last year I think I got around 12 or more in Ohio and Indiana. Quite flat driving. If I kicked off tow haul mode on flat land it would probably do well. We were fully loaded on trip to Goshen.

My mileage went from 6-8 with the Escalade ESV to 12-14 with the F250 PSD. Lowest I have seen is just over 10....that was towing into a 30MPH headwind from OKC to Dallas.
