Rich- I just had a look at my trailer and there appears to be a chunk of the steel frame running right from front to back. The way my trailer is parked I cannot get behind the wheels (I have a pie shaped spot to park it), but I would say right behind the wheels there should be a good spot to put a jack. In front of the wheels on the one side looks to be the main propane line, and on the other side is the black water drain; so that is why I think the back would be better. Keep in mind that you do not have jack right next to the wheel. Closer does give you more leverage; but even 1 foot behind should be OK.
I am glad that you asked the question, because now I see something I should put in the trailer- a piece of 2x2 wood. That way it will match up better with the frame and give you something to push against with the jack. In thinking about this; I wonder if it would be a good idea to leave the trailer wired up to the tow vehicle and have somebody press the brake; so that the trailer brakes also engage.
sgharp- let me know when you take delivery what the interior and exterior solutions are. Looking at the brochure they only show 2 hooks outside (for garbage and a lantern), and then something on the bathroom door.

The owner's manual doesn't tell you much about anything specific to this trailer. How do you turn on the bathroom fan in the vent? I don't see a switch. Also i would up pulling the fuse for the radio because the weather alert kept turning the radio on.

There is a switch right in the corner of the vent assmbly. I'm locked out of mine at the moment (DW decided to take both our keys to work for some reason), but it is there. I know it is black on black, so maybe have a look with a flashlight.
I'll see if I can find a setting for the radio; I know mine never comes on by itself- but that could also be that I'm out of range for the alerts.
Edit- confirmed the location of the fan switch- it is on the shower side of the vent, closest to the door. So standing outside the bathroom you will not be able to see it. You need to step inside and look up. I tried to take a picture but will have to wait until after sunset for it to show the switch.
And for the radio; on the last page of the manual it briefly talks about the weather alerts. Apparently with the unit off if you press "Mode" the "NOAA" indicator will turn off. I say "apparently" because I could not get mine to turn off either. Mind you I also had issues setting the clock which is also done from the off position.

Thank you Ken I'll take a closer look. I keep at least one key away from the wife.

Just did some testing to see how much different appliances draw for power. We are going camping next weekend and will just have 15 amp available; so I wanted to see how much different things draw. I'm posting them here partially for my own benefit; as I'm sure I will forget.
- Electric water heater- 1225 watts
- Microwave- 1175 watts
- Heating element in the A/C's "optional heat"- 1525 watts
- A/C on "fan only"- 400-440 watts depending on speed.
So here's the interesting part of this. I realized I hadn't tried the A/C so I went out and did that. Putting it to A/C did not change the wattage. I also did not hear the typical whine that I would expect and A/C unit to make. Does that mean that it was too cold out for it to kick in? (It's only about 10C; 50F outside right now.) The other thing I was surpised by was how much power the fan takes; it seems high.
The one conclusion I can draw though is it appears to be safe to be plugged into 15 amp power; just as long as you never have more than one appliance on at a time.

I took the new trailer out for the first trip this past weekend. It was around 40F at night and I used my small electric heater. It worked great! Because the 16p unit is small it heated up the trailer in no time. the Tstat shut off and didn't come on for 5 or 10 minutes to heat up again. The furnace in the unit is noisy compared to a electric heater (plus you don't use your propane as Ken stated). The hot water tank worked great. I slept on the table folded down rather than the bottom bunk and found it more comfortable. I'll look for a small mattress to make the bottom bunk more "cushiony". I still need to go to walmart for: toilet paper holder, extra coat hook or two, paper towel holder, small battery wall clock. Overall I am very pleased with the camper. How are you guys making out? Any ideas or questions?
Steve

My trip next weekend will be my first; but to address the above issue I bought a big roll of bubble wrap and put it down under the foam. I got a 75' by 4' roll from a shipping supply company for $40. So far it has help up to my weight on it; and hopefully will be just a little more cushon.
I'm still looking for somewhere that sells custom sized air mattresses.
Steve; did you happen to take any pictures? I'd be interested in seeing them; especially if you have one with the awning open. The dealer said it was too windy when we did my inspection; and I'm a little worried about it not being as easy as they told me it would be.

Ken I can appreciate that. When they did my demo, he went over the awning really fast. I would suggest going out on youtube and look for advice. I found several videos on how to use your awning. they all work pretty much the same. I also found videos on my brake controller and other items I wasn't sure about.
Go to youtube and type in "RV tips awning"

One thing to add to this thread; I was doing some testing on my black tank (see this thread)- and I made a discovery. It appears the documentation on the 16P might have the tank capacities reversed.
I know for sure that I was able to put 40-45 gallons of water into my black tank; and similar Wolf Pups list 41 gallons for black and 31 for grey.
I'm not 100% sure yet as I'd like to test the grey tank at some point; but I thought I'd share anyway as it might be useful info to have.
