450 watt inverter

The wife and I are thinking about purchasing our 1st motorhome, a 2007 Forester 3101ss. I asked about an inverter and the salesman told me we really didn't need one. And since the Motor home was already built it would be another $2000 to install one. Does this sound right, can I get by without one and does it cost $2000 for one including installation.

you can gat one heck of an invert for 2k
and have it installed
go shp around and then find a reputable place to install it if your unelectrical friendly

west marine has great ones that are rugged for rv use
i have a 1750 watt in my truck hard installed and it has been beat to death and still keeps on ticking

best to figure what your load will be then the batteries to run the inverter and f course the recharge on the batteries
i hate to keep saying west marine.... but thier website and book will lay it out based on load and batteries.
easy as falling off a log

You don't need one unless you plan to run 110V AC stuff. I thought they were pretty much standard in all travel trailers and motorhomes for stuff like TVs and tape/cd decks. I could see $500 but surely not $2k for one that size (a 450W inverter capable of 400W continuous is $50-75). You sure he wasn't confused and though you said power generator?

Wolfgang, I thought they would be too, but have seen lots of Motorhomes without one. It already has a generator, he was talking about an inverter and the installation.
