Best way to clean vent covers

What's the best way to way to clean vent covers like this picture? I tried black streak remover and a household cleaner with bleach...neither seemed to make a dent in cleaning it.

I use Awsome cleaner, the Lids still have a Gray cast color but they are clean! If you install Maxair Covers early on the lids are a Non Issue as far as Brittle and Fragile! Youroo!!

Replace it.

1. They're not expensive.
2. You can get a nice tinted one, or even a metal one.
3. Any cover that looks like that is just a season or two away from failure due to UV light/weather exposure.
4. Replacing a cover is easy to do. Just be sure you get the right kind for your RV. (There are only 3 types. You'll have to go by the catalog pictures.)

In the mean time you could just spray paint it white. That would look nice (for what that's worth) and be a little cooler, too.

Respectfully disagree. As I found out a Maxair cover makes them last MUCH longer, but not forever. And when they do fail, there is no water damage.

This vent lid and maxair cover are 8 years old. Replaced the lid, kept the Maxair!

I never could get mine clean either. I used Jomax on the roof twice a year with...I think the mix added 1 cup bleach per gallon of water with it and it didn't make a dent on the covers. The roof got sparkling white..just not that plastic.

A horrendous house painter who was spraying oil based stain on my log home oversprayed it and covered my three month old Solera w/ it's full body paint (100 ft. away & my car & other workers vehicles too!) I had to go and get it clay barred off. The painter had wanted to use lacquer thinner on my gloss black Mercedes hood. I said no way!! Anyways, the plastic vent covers never got entirely clean. I'd still like to go up there and try to see if anything will work on them.

In the past I've used the high pressure hose at the car wash. It takes off the rough. Texture. Just have to be careful not to ruin the roof
