What type of cellular service are you guys using to be streaming Netflix and HuLu from your cell phones and HotSpots?

I'd imagine you need unlimited monthly data?

I have a grandfathered, 3G service from Sprint for $30 a month. I don't think 3G would even get me into the game if I was streaming video....

If you have an iPhone (and hopefully with a good LTE connection) you can connect directly to it if you have "Personal Hotspot" enabled in settings. No router needed. I'm pretty sure there's a way to do that with the android phones (don't know how one creates a hotspot on those).

Unless you can use cellular service to connect to the internet, don't bother with streaming video and a smart TV. Most campgrounds don't support video streaming or if they do you'll affect everybody else's bandwidth. My experience is that most campground wifi is barely adequate for email and web surfing.

We bought a BluRay player just to play movies. The Concertone unit in ours can't play many newer DVDs.

Apple sells a device that plugs into your iPhone and a hdmi cable plugs into it, and the other end of cable plugs into tv , so no hot spot needed, just a good phone signal and a big data plan.

Thought about it. Got a Roku player instead. I do have a Verizon unlimited plan grandfathered from many years ago. Cost an arm and a leg for the unlimited plan.

Thanks for pointing that out. It looks like their coverage is pretty good for most of the areas I frequent (except, of course, my house). With the hot spot device the pricing (about $35 a month) for unlimited streaming of a lot of services is worth trying out. They also told me it was month to month and could be cancelled and restarted as much as one desires for no additional cost.
