Cross country trip

Planning a 4 week trip from Ohio, denver, grand canyon, indio california, ventura, up to portland, seattle, glacier NP, yellowstone, home. I'm tired just typing this. Trying to plan trip up the coast and wondering if sequoia NP is worth the stop vs redwoods NP. Any comments on must see sights welcome. Traveling with 3 kids and 2 dogs.

We are thousand trails members and stay at their park outside the west entrance. You probably won't find a place in the park for your rig. The also rent spaces to the public.

Cross country trip

I did a trip up to Yosemite last New Year from Phoenix. I would caution you to avoid the 99 freeway, it's in pretty rough shape. I would use the I-5 as an alternate.

Also keep in mind that the Southwest, (I-10 Phoenix to Indio) is going to be heating up in June. We had our hottest day of the year this year in June. Fun fun! ☀️

When we went to Yosemite in May, 2011, we stayed at the Yosemite KOA in Midpines. It's an okay place, but it was good for us since snow was predicted (and occurred), there were no hookups in the park's campgrounds, and they were so full it wasn't likely we could get a spot anyway.

A nice thing about the Yosemite KOA was that the Yosemite shuttle came there. If you are planning to go to the main sites, it's a good way to avoid the parking problem. Look into the shuttle to see if it fits your plans.
