The reason jeeps are so easy to tow and u can tow an auto is because they have a transfer case that when put in neutral, jeep just free wheels
They did make 2wd wranglers. I would guess they don't have a transfer case. Don't know if auto could be towed, but I've never seen one.

The worlds leading RV tow system manufacture uses Remco to do look ups for vehicles. It's a great reference.
