If you don't do the Recall, and later visit a dealer, they could load the new OEM tune while you are in the shop without even asking you. And that would delete your 5 Star tune... It's safer to let them do the Recall when you want it done, and then reload your tune, rather than to chance it later....

That makes sense. I've never taken our E450 to the dealer. We've not needed any warranty repair. I'll call them and find out if there are any bulletins that I need to know about.

If you have a 5 star tune and your vehicle has to go for emissions (smog) testing, you may have to return the vehicle to stock and drive it for a while before getting the test done. I had the 5 star on a f350 with the 6.8 and it failed with the tune on. I believe the tune does not run all of the required emissions reporting that the stock tune does. After returning the it to stock and driving it for a day it passed.
