Generator

Hello everybody.
I'm trying to collect some market information on RV generators and I'd like to ask the folks that have MHs with on board generators to identify from the list below, what would be the one thing that you would like to IMPROVE regarding your experience with on board generators.

List:
Lower Acquisition cost
Lower operation cost
Lower Maintenance cost
Reduce vibration
Reduce noise
Other? => Please specify.

Thank you very much for any input,

Reduce noise, better routing of exhaust, perhaps add auto start.

Send a message via AIM to NoviBill
  1. Reduced maintenance schedule - Running one hour a month is a pain in the off-season.
  2. Noise - mine is old so this may be better in newer versions
  3. Value - Cost for a given Quality (think Honda expensive, but they just work)

generator

Auto start and shut-off just like a generac and others do for your house. Exhaust to a safe area that reduces chances of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Noise !

Easier to replace the carb should it get gunked up due to non-use.

Reduced Noise would be my first pick. The Onan 4000 isn't bad, but it isn't great. There is a food truck that stops near my work that has an Onan 7000 built in and it is Honda generator quiet!

Second would be to somehow route the exhaust so that it is safer to sleep inside with the generator running.
