I have a new Georgetown 328TS. The fridge has water in the door and ice maker (I wish it didn't). How do I winterize those????

I've moved this post to here to stand on it's own. I was afraid it would get
lost in the general winterizing thread it was originally posted in.

Hope you can help him!

You can connect your air hose when you drain your system. Make sure fridge is powered up. Push the water button till there's plenty of sputtering.
Some where there will be a tubing connector to the fridge just below or under sink, secure and disconnect for draining if anything is left. The maker itself is designed to Freeze. Can always dry up with paper towels.

Fridge winterize

We had the same issue with our Cardinal. We blew out the water with air pressure( no more than 25 psi ) once the fridge was empty of water, we found the shut off valve to it (ours was near the sink, underneath) our fridge will never have water again. If I want to dispense ice, I just fill the dispenser with store bought ice and bingo.

Good luck with your winterization.

Don't forget to make sure the ice maker solenoid valve has no water in it. I found out the hard way. Now I disconnect the tubing and remove the valve to make sure the water is out. It also allows any water the the tubing to drain out

Don't forget the filter. I flooded part of our 2015 GT 364 this spring due to a built-in water filter that had frozen and ruptured in the winter then leaked when warmer weather arrived. The easy solution is to remove it. It's easily visible and accessible inside the refrigerator area...just push and turn and it pops out. In fact, it isn't even needed for the refrigerator to operate. Like others, we don't and won't use the refrigerator ice maker. This is mostly due to the fact that we don't drink the tap water. Instead, we by bottled water or fill a tank at WalMart.

Good luck with your winterization.

Be careful with brands of commercial ice that is very hard and also larger size than harvested by rv cubers. You could easily jam or damage the auger as fitted.

I don't know if yours is similar, but on our 2017 SS, I was able to cycle the icemaker by removing the end cover and turning the small motor gear. Once an internal switch makes, the motor takes over and dumps/refills. With air connected to the outside hose connection, it purges all water from the solenoid after 3 or 4 cycles. Then I closed the push/pull valve feeding the fridge.

If you don't cycle the icemaker with the air pressure on, you will freeze the solenoid valve an/or the 1/4 inch line that goes up the back of the unit. You can either manually cycle the icemaker using the instructions provided, or I just leave the air pressure on over night and let the icemaker cycle normally by itself. That will force the remaining water out of the valve and line.
