Glass sink shattered in 2014 360XL

Nice day in PA went out to motor home to exercise the generator , started the generator and then looked around saw what looked like ice on the floor near the fridge, checked closer found it to be glass. Had one of those hmmm moments, wondered were that came from. Looked around open the half bath door then saw it the glass sink shattered. Another hmmm moment how did that happen other sinks in master bath fine, has been very cold like bone chilling, saw pink stuff around the broken glass, motor home winterized by dealer when bought , drove it home 50 miles parked it. Question, all faucets have pink stuff coming out of them I guess from pressure from hot to cold , is this normal. Do you leave faucets open after winterizing. Any guesses why the sink exploded. Will call dealer on Monday to get a new sink no big deal , but how to prevent this again is the question??

Thanks Bldhnd617 Have A Great Day

Unless you find evidence that something landed on it, I would say that the sink casting was defective. With the below 0 degree weather we've had here lately, I wouldn't be surprised that broke. Better now than when when running hot water in it on your first trip.

You should see about installing a stainless steel one.

Just a question, was the bottom of the sink still on the counter?

Ah.
I wonder if the metal drain shrank more than the glass due to cold weather and blew out the bottom..

No idea where the pink came from unless it was in the sink when it exploded.

Do you remember if the drain was closed or open?

Shattered Sink

What if anything did your dealer say about your sink. We have our coach in Florida all winter and when we came back from supper we found our sink exploded all over the bathroom. The first thing we thought is that something dropped on it.. Nothing fell on it. No major change in temperature. Just trying to figure it out.

Thanks,

Joe

Same thing happened on our 334 class. No apparent reason to explode, just shattered.Found a NBC news report on the internet about glass vessel sinks doing the same in homes.replacing mine with brushed nickel copper.Hope dealer will pay for it.Just glad no one got injured!
