How much does your C Weigh?

Waht model do you have and how much does it weigh?
real world actual, not the rating......

I looked a few years back, now I'm re-thinking a C for my family of 5
What I remember from before was that I figured once I loaded it, I would be over, or nearly over my capacities.... but back then i was focusing on bunk houses
figuring a load......
my family
maybe a friend or two of my kids'
food, chairs, stuff.....
full propane
gasoline or diesel
some water in the tank
some greay and black water on board

I don't need a huge surplus, but I don't want to be constantly worried about it.

Now I'm thinking that maybe some of the non-bunkhouse models might be workable too.... so I'm wondering if anyone out there has weights they can share so I can get a little more familiar with the models and choices.......

Empty and allowable gross weights are listed in the brochures. Download them from the manufacturer's Web sites.

Thanks, but based on what I've seen the GVW and the GCVW ratings are listed, but not usually the empty......
But the empty isn't really what I'm after anyway, since it wouldn't show the options installed, etc..... & it's not clear to me what is included in those numbers and what isn't....

What I was hoping for is the real scaled weights, loaded as you drive down the road typically.....

Forest River weighs every motor home and puts the net cargo capacity on a label.

Oops sent too soon. Check the actual cargo capacity of a few at a dealer.

I'm right at or slightly above the GVWR at 11,030. It's a Solara 24S.
I have to really keep track of what I'm putting in the coach.

Wow, don't know how you guys keep it below the limit. I have a Forester 3051 with a 14,400 limit and can' get it below max weight. Weight for me is a real issue. Normally travel empty tanks and not more than 30 gal gas.

The Forester 305 looks like a nice unit. I am sure part of our lower loaded weight is the lack of any slides and the Coachmen Freelander 28QB is likely a little shorter than your unit.
Enjoy the camping season.

Here's my weight slip 1 month ago:
2011 3170DS
Front 4,620lbs (5,000lbs max)
Rear 9,680lbs (9,500lbs max)
Gross 14,300lbs (14,500lbs max)

This was packed for a 10 day trip. There is 5 of us plus 2 labs, totaling 800lbs in "live" cargo. Then theirs everyone's stuff (dogs massive folding crate is 65lbs alone). I had about a 1/2 tank of fresh water, 215lbs, about 5gals of each black/gray, 86lbs, and 3/4 tank of fuel still on board.

We've had this motorhome since 2011, and this was by no means a heavy trip for us. We normally have all the above plus 5 bikes on the back in a big receiver basket/cargo hauler I welded up. That's at least another 350lbs on the rear, plus what ever is taken off from the front due to leverage. I won't even say a thing about the times I haul fire wood along with me.

I weighed my new-to-me 1998 Gulfstream 31' C class as I headed out camping with everything filled (two occupants, gas, propane, water, and about 150 lbs. of firewood). Total weighed 14,380 lbs., rear axle 10,200 lbs., front axle 4180 lbs.

I was a bit surprised, since I'm over the GVWR by 330 lbs., but what concerns me more is that the rear tires are rated for 2460 lbs. each in tandem, for 9840 lbs.

I'm brainstorming ways to shift more weight to the front axle.

Been doing the same here. Problem is my big huge pass through storage compartment is all the way at the back. That's the only storage compartment big enough to store camping chairs, XL dog crate, and all other things big and heavy.

Don't forget on your generation E450 the front axle gross weight limit is 4,500lbs. So, you can't move more than about 320lbs forward. Which is indeed hard to do in my findings and storage options up front.

I had to start tossing things like wood blocks for leveling and excess tools. I'll have to purchase firewood when we get to our destination, even though I have more than I can burn at home.
