I 95 Florida to Maine

Any tips for traveling I95 from Florida to Maine this summer? Anyone use EZ Pass with their motor home? Any tunnel issues?
Thanks,
Gil

Hello Gil

Have traveled I-95 both ways from PA to FL for several years now with a 5er & class A.
Actually packing now & leaving next Fri for Sarasota.
I’ve been a long time user of Easy Pass. Just wish they accepted it in Fl.
You’re supposed to get a special easy pass for your motorhome. It takes into account your class of vehicle & of course you’re charge accordingly.

You are not allowed through the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel with anything more than those 1 pound propane bottles used for lanterns.
Doesn’t matter if you turn off your tanks. Just not allowed. I-695 is your alternate.

We leapfrog from one flying J to the next.

x2 on the Baltimore Harbor / McHenry Tunnel. The go around, 695 over the Key Bridge, isn't that bad.

I-695 east over the Key Bridge is shorter. West bound is more scenic & adds about 20 mins to your trip (off rush hour).
However crossing the bridge in a class A can be a little un-nerving for some folks especially in high winds.
The one time we went that direction when we had the class A the DW went into the back while we crossed.
Rumor has it a class A was sent overboard in high winds a couple years ago.
I can’t find any records of it though.
