Agree 100%! Even my wife and daughter leave me alone when I'm setting up!

I failed at the Campground!
I have been there myself. Just watching and then if someone asked for help. It was a biggy when they asked as the slide came off the cables
The real test will be in front of 20 at a FROG rally. Luckily I wheeled the fiver in in one shot. Youroo didn't have to laugh.

You did not fail. At some point you will be one of the older guys and remember to treat people the way that makes you want to be treated right now.
You cannot fix what others are doing but you can offer or avoid helping. When no help is accepted, watch and start the chuckle fest if need be.

Nothing like a paper drive out tag to start a conversation. But it should have gone something like this:
"New camper?"
(yes)
"First Camper?"
(yes/no)
"Well, we're Wade and Kathy, were in site 26 and if you need anything let us know. We'll invite you over for some peach cobbler later."

Am I the only one who was expecting "I failed at the Campground" to be a disaster story?
I was just settling in to read about some harrowing adventure only to find out your only failure was that you didn't know some capacity specs.
Kinda disappointed but congrats on your new rig!

Me too.
I don't know mine either. Specs say I have 40 gallon gray tank. But I have two!
Specs say I have 18 foot awning. But I have two!!
I've read blank tank capacity 92 times. I can't remember how big it is.
My answer would have been 'Pretty danged big, till they get full'............... LOL

Never let anyone help you set up or hook up,every major screwup that has happened tome has happened when I let someone HELP.I have a routine and follow it unless someone stops me to talk or helps ,then things go wrong.

No need to be defiant when asked a question, tell those interlopers to let you be while setting up. ...Sorry, I just had to do it. Definitely/defiantly are just too good to let slip.

It doesn't matter how big your tanks are. It matters that you don't have your DW calling out that she's got standing water in the shower. It's about how often you have to empty them.... Just saying

A couple of weeks ago my DW and I were backing in to our spot when a guy from a couple of sites over approached us. He tells us that our site didn't have full hook ups and was pretty much a tent site. After closer inspection we agreed that he was indeed correct. We then proceeded to call the office and get the site switched to one with full hook ups, which is what we paid for.
So in this case I appreciated this fellow coming over and helping out before we got too far!

I agree. He never let us get that far. I hadn't unpacked anything yet. I basically backed in off the road and he was right there!
