They told me it has to be insured in the State where it is stored when not Camping
That was NC
I live 6 miles away in SC where I'm licensed
I had a NC policy but SC DMV would not recognize that it was insured
South Carolina is the problem
So I got a SC policy to appease them and for progressives sake I had to move the unit to SC

I had the same issue with Progressive and you are correct, that is their policy. However, there are companies that will write you a South Carolina policy and allow you to store it in another. I think Blue Sky is one of them. I priced it through an independent agent; my case Good Sam’s who will shop the carriers for you. Then double checked the pricing on the individual carriers website.

I obviously want to be straight with them.
All my cars and home are with USAA and my RV & Motorcycle with the Progressive branch.
I don't want to leave them but I really don't know what choice I have other than moving it
Dear Honest Abe,

Just tell them you park it at your house and not the storage location. They don't send anyone out to check, this is a normal practice.

Insurance issue

I checked Blue Sky but they wanted $500/year more than Progressive
It's all good!
Signed, Abe!

I can tell you that we had a similar problem when we wanted to store our TT in Washington St when we live in Iowa. Actually had to have it insured by an agent of our insurance company in Washington St. They were fine with it being titled, registered, plated in Iowa, it just had to be insured in the state where it resided.
I don't know if it makes any difference, we did not have a lien on the unit so did not have to deal with a loan company at all.

I hope insurance fraud is an abnormal practice. Also, we have already established that the OP is honest.
