MH Must Haves
We are planning to pickup our new Sunseeker many miles from home sometime in October. This is our first and I need your help. We are planning on flying to Buffalo and driving it home. We'll be stopping on the way back at a CG.
What things are "must haves" that we can pickup on the way to the CG?
Is there anything we must do before using the MH?

make sure you do a good pdi and run all functions before you leave the lot. turn on and off every switch and know what it does open and close every cupboard drawer and storage compartment. run ac and heater . if you search the forums you will find a good pdi check list. as for must haves for campground my list includes a good lawn chair good food and good whiskey. hope you have a great time with your sunseeker we love ours .

Not sure how many nights you will be at a CG on your way home, put you may want to either ask the dealer if the propane will be full so you can start the fridge cooling down right away for food or you may want to plan on stopping to buy a large cooler to use for your trip home.

Besides the PDI, others on the forum who have travelled for the pickup suggest you spend the first night near the dealership in case anything needs to be repaired right away.

That's a good point regarding staying close. I've printed and studied the PDI checklist.
I'm thinking I need,
White water hose
Sewer hose and fittings?
Sheets, pillows and blanket
Water filter?
Work gloves
Cooler
??

Ours came new with the stinky slinky and the white water hose....not good quality, we bought a Rino brand later to replace it, but the free one works.
Definitely linens...bathroom as well as bedroom. You'll have carpet scrap rugs at the doors. Oh, kitchen linens as well....
paper plates, napkins or paper towels
plastic utensils
(if you intend to eat in it)
you can decide on whether or not you want regular kitchenware later...which will include pots/pans, etc.
(ours also came with the Flagstaff grill utensils)
If you intend to shower that night...soap!

I also like to bring my tool set for the camper, spare fuses, a multimeter, and a lug wrench (my current trailer required torquing the lugs for the first 200 miles. Yours may or may not).

I have a spare toolbox w/tools at home. I'm hoping we can make it home without it. Taking it on the plane would be a bummer.

Doh!! I forgot you were flying. Just buy some spare fuses at the dealership and ask the tech if the wheels need to be torqued (there would be a sticker near the axles if they do).

Have the Dealer put water in the clean water tank, while you are watching him and see how that works, over flow, lights on console, water pump, etc.
Make sure all faucets and toilet and shower works ok.
Get a lug wrench at the Dealer and make sure it works/fits... I have a 'fat' lug wrench from my old camper (did not work on new camper) and the lugs/rims need a 'slim' sided lug wrench. After 50 or so miles, stop and check all the tires lugs. Don't have to 'torque' them yet.... but 'torque' them when you get home.

Water pressure regulator. Sometimes the dealer throws one in but make sure you have one if connecting to the campground's water supply.

Until you get home I would use the onboard water only for washing and toilet. Consider it non-potable and use bottled water for drinking on this trip. Have fun and enjoy your new toy.

And make sure the TP is RV grade. You can probably purchase some at the dealer. If not, and you can't find a RV store, I'm told Angel Soft from WalMart is acceptable.

You can pretty much rough it for that trip home. The big thing we missed was sheets for the bed. That was not the most comfortable night lol.

First stop WallMart for Toilet paper, Clorox wipes, disposable gloves for when you dump the tanks....oh the list will be long...
