Hey guys a friend just purchased a class A sunseeker motorhome.
he says he cant get any propane? He did mention that the alarm goes off and thought it would shut off the propane flow if alarm is going off?
any help or suggestions to try to get propane to stove, hot water heater.
it is a 1994. thanks for any help

@Campfun
Note the propane alarm just indicates propane in the area - the ones I know of do not shut the propane ---- Don't try to light anything once the alarm goes off! --- Ventilate the area and check for a leak, loose fitting or what ever is causing the propane alarm to trigger.
First step IMHO would be to check the fitting (soap & water) followed by testing the detector How to Troubleshoot RV Propane Detectors | eHow.com --- after these steps I and out of my depth - good luck

Here's a few ideas:
Propane alarms were not required until 1997 any chance of mistaken idenity? Even if someone retrofited an alarm, they are supposed to be changed every 5 years due inaccuracy account Mfg.

The solenoid shut off valve your RV probably had one new, very doubtful the Sunseeker had one as they didn't come around until the mid 2000's.

The propane and tank detectors are about 18 years old, maybe the tank is really M/T? Maybe bad regulator.

thanks for the help guys. we did get the propane working. there was a propane alarm with a reset. the alarm was going off and after we reset it it had different tone of beeps and then went off after a min or so.
another question the hot water heater is only gas. does the flame always burn or will it shut off after water gets to temp. it seems like it never shut off today was there for two hours... thanks for help. It does have elctric ignition or start for the gas hot water heater. thanks
