Plugged in or not?

Just curious, is it best to leave the motorhome plugged into shore power while being stored and not in use or totally shut down with battery tenders hooked up?

There are arguments for both. If you have a good three stage converter/charger it won't hurt the batteries to leave it plugged in all the time. Mine stays plugged in all the time and i only have to add distilled water about once or twice a year. You need to be able to check everything regularly if you leave it plugged in.

Ditto for me: Good advice from Bama. Mine too stays plugged in all the time as we always keep the fridge going in our rig but then again it's parked inside our garage and the RV fridge is my "beer fridge" (expensive beer fridge) We also keep the fireplace running to keep a little heat in there during the winter and keep the moisture away.

As Bama said, keep and eye on the water levels in the batteries and only replace with distilled water when they need more.

We also keep ours plugged in. It's other assignment is my get away room. I watch Nascar and the NFL out there. I can yell at the TV and only occasionally get a strange look from the neighbors walking by. :Beside if or I really should say when I fall asleep out there it's always comfortable. However, you do need to check the batteries occasionally.

Depends on how long it will be stored. Long term (6 m0nths plus), remove batteries.

Yes they do work and well too, I might add. They don't remove the need to periodically check the batteries but they do a good job of keeping them charged but not over charged.
