Sleeping quarters - Sunseeker 2250 model

I want to turn the dinette table into a bed for grandkids. I have taken the table top off but the upright post does not want to move. Does it have to taken off the floor where the bolts are in order to make a bed? There must be an easier way to do this. What am I missing? Thanks for any imput.... By the way this is our first rv and just purchased this 2014 model.

Just wiggle and pull the post from the base. It is very tight the first time.

Thanks, it worked. It appeared to be solidly attached. I knew there had to be an easier way. Happy Rving!!!

Little lube on the table legs will help when you put the legs back in, and also when you remove them next time.
