DSurette, was wondering why the X1 would work and the X2 would not. I got an email first of the week about a sale at on the new rack mount. Only thing I saw was it probably would noti be a good idea to travel with the dish mounted. Looks like it uses the same mounting base as the one for the tripod.

We use the King Quest with Direct TV. You can mount it anywhere you like i.e. roof, tripod or on a table. When we hit the road, we move the receiver to the tt from home. An A/V unit cast the picture to two other TVs in the unit so we only need one receiver. Where we live, the 101 sat is easy to hit. The 129, not so easy.
We have a stationary dish at home mounted on a tripod in the backyard and have great reception even during heavy rain. The next door neighbor uses Dish TV with the antenna mounted on his roof and has a lot of trouble getting decent reception all the time. Even cloud cover causes him trouble.

Had Directv for 10'plus years, switched to Dish 2 years ago due rising costs. When I first got Dish it was really bad during storms. They sent out a tech who found the installer had not tighten retaining bolts. After tech realigned, Hardy ever lose Eastern satellites during storms, about the same as Directv. Better than over the air tv during storms.

Satdog, I agree that the bases look the same for the X1 and X2 and would probably work. Here is the reply that I got from Winegard. I think they just don't want you to permanently mount the X2 on a ladder because it's not designed for that.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I noticed that you now have a ladder mount for the Pathway X1. Is there any chance that you will come out with the same for the Pathway X2? What is the physical difference between the X1 and X2? Would it be possible for me to modify the X1 ladder mount to accommodate the X2?

Good afternoon,

The Pathway X2 is not designed to be mounted and do not recommend you trying to do so. I'm sure that you can fabricate the mount to make the X2 fit but we do not recommend doing so.
