I almost bought a mini convertible to tow behind my solera (sprinter). The service manage said oK but I asked them to call factory. Mini USA said all warrantees would be void. So we bought a Jeep Wrangler soft top instead. Even auto ok to flat tow and no steering wheel lock.

x2 on the Wrangler. Everyone should have a toad that's what they want, but towing the Wrangler is SO easy! With the Invisibrake there's just a single umbilical to connect, then a breakaway switch and that's it - ready to go.

x3 on the Wrangler but I went top notch and bought the 2014 Rubicon Unlimited. Hope all of you remember the heavy duty safety chains as well. I am reading a lot of comments about break away safety cables and electric brakes but no one has mentioned the safety chains. The safety chain, if sized correctly, is the first line of defense in an emergency, the breakaway cable and the electric toad brakes engage when all else fails.

We have a wrangler but we try to keep it nice (DW's car)
The mini is an '07 and thought it might be easier on the C and there is no warranty to worry about

Totally agree, Explorer1016! I went extra heavy and bought the Blue Ox Adventa tow bar. It came with two very nice 10K safety cables. Also got the KarGard II screen to protect the Jeep. Works great and looks good, stowed or deployed.

I towed a Mini Cooper S behind my Class B ERA ( Sprinter chassis) for 3 years. Just be sure you buy a 6 speed Mini and off you go. We used a Blue Ox aventa tow bar, plate, and Patriot braking system. Don't forget to run a charge line to keep the Mini battery charged because any braking system put a stress on the towed vehicle and will discharge it during a full days travel!

Good point, RSchleder - That was something else I liked about the Invisibrake. It comes with a trickle charger. I just keep the headlights on the coach turned on when towing and it charges everything for me. Safe to boot.

Do you have a complete Roadmaster tow system? If so, what tow bar do you use?
I am looking at the Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain tow bar. Since this will be a long term investment, I am leaning toward the Falcon 2 10K Bar JIC I upgrade to a vehicle heavier than The Jeep Cherokee.

I went with Blue Ox, the Aventa LX with the KarGard II. Love it.

We have towed our Mini for 1,000's of miles and absolutely love it.... It's a 2003 Hatchback with a manual transmission.... Makes a fantastic toad !!!!

Oh - I used the Roadmaster Falcon set-up to tow and I had diodes placed in rear tail lights so I'm not pulling juice from Mini at any time....
