I was wondering if anyone put there leaf spring front, center shackle, and rear leaf springs on the lower frame hole? I would like to get a bit more clearance. I am constantly having to stop at almost every dip to put boards out so I don't hit my steps.
Had the same issue you had with a tail dragger. My 2008 WPT28BR didn't have any extra mounting holes for the springs and equalizer, so I installed the Dexter over/under conversion kit for the 3" tube (K71-385-00, moved the axle under the springs) and Dexter E-Z Flex Tandem Axle suspension Kit (K71-652-00). Gained about 5" of ground clearance in the rear.
Depends on what you are loading. It will increase the gate angle. We have pulled/pushed a 1000 pound smoker up the gate. Anything self-powered would be a non-issue.
Yes everything I put up there would have a motor. I have my camper back at forest river for repairs. I just sent an e-mail to James Norman asking him to look into raising the camper. I did go camping at a campground that had a asphalt pad. the ramp came down onto the grass at a much higher pitch. My Road king did just skim at the angle. I think it would be fine a inch higher on level ground. anything else I haul has no problems with clearance. It just make me wonder why they put 2 sets of holes on the frame if you cant use them.
