"It is a wretched taste of mediocrity when excellence lies before us"-Marcel Proust

I just read he was a food critic as well...lol It just irks me that, with a little more attention to detail, that refer vent would have been sealed, and other things as well. Everybody suffers from this...Quality isn't about better materials all the time. It's about doing an adequate job with whats there. Instead of eating into margins that might pay a living wage. I'm glad your getting her fixed. I cant help thinking how many peeps wont and why this cant be caught in house...

I'm happy that the OP was/is being taken care of by FR. I'm getting closer on picking up a 2016 34WRS and after reading this thread I'll be doing my own PDI. I will walk away if I find any big issues.

Well got my camper back after quite some months. It has more problems then when it was sent out! They cut the hole for the top fridge vent too big and the vent cover will pop out going down the road. The bedroom door is broke off the track. The slider binds pops and snaps going in and out. Found loose screws on top of the slider missing screws everywhere. terrible caulking in and out. The 2 biggest things the upper fridge vent they didn't put the inner wall back in!!! There is no way to build up a seal now and water will continue to walk in through the 3 lower channels. Also they never sealed the new walls around the wheel well area only painted the wood. This was to be quality controlled many times before its return. This is really beyond poor quality and workmanship. I asked If they can send a Tech. out to see if we can somehow get this unit usable.

And if that wasn't enough my television mounts in the bedroom and garage are missing. Also my fridge holders (as I call them) were missing. When they brought it back my battery was stone dead disconnected and my wing nuts missing. The whole unit in and out is dirty. I was told a new repair crew was in place and they were going to get a earful. I think its time to talk to a attorney. Shame We only got one trouble free camping trip since we bought it in march of 2013!

Found some more trim screws missing. The seal over the slider on the inside is just hanging off! They stripped the screw into the wood. My entrance door wouldn't even lock! I have been back and forth with James Norman and all I'm getting is (yes thanks for the pictures and info we will handle this) As of Friday 8/28 I provided him with a forest river service center that would be more than happy to help me. (evaluate it and possibly fix it) Monday 8/31 I get a email from James (Thank you I will get this handled today) Still no response.

Just got a call from the place I bought it from. They are approved to come evaluate it. Hopefully they can do something better than the plant did.

Now you guys are worrying me. Mine isn't back yet. it has been gone since the 7th of July. I was hoping to use it this weekend, but that won't happen. James keeps assuring me that they are taking their time to do an excellent job. I certainly hope so. I don't want to use the word "legal" with them, but it better come back alot better than it left. When I called James initially he indicated that they knew they had serious issues with their quality. I don't want to call him and reference your trailer as the reason for my concern, but, since it was done right before mine, I AM CONCERNED. We will just see. Mine had the spare tire and all kinds of things built in, they need to be there when it comes back.

Yes I know how you feel Scott! Now I have to take a day off drop it off at the dealer. They are going to remove both vents remove the refrigerator, build a sub wall, seal it and fix all the other stuff. I'm at a loss at how many things passed two quality control walk through. At least James has approved all the repairs and seems to want thinks to be right. I just hope the people at RV outlet show better quality workmanship. Looking like no camping at all this year! I'll keep you updated on this... Please do the same.

Work and play

I went through all this and more and after 2nd year I dumped this piece of crap, FR quality is shame full, The problem is the RV industry has no out side competition, if we could get them from another country like the car business there quality would have to go up, just like the foreign cars did to US auto makers,
If I listed the troubles I would run out of time in a week. Everything from leaks! to 3 AC units in a year to Bad wiring, to step breaking and dam near broke my ankle so on and so fourth, It is a shame They look great but it is a silk shirt on a pig Bar none1

I HOPE I have better luck with our new Grand design 328M they claim this is the class of toy haulers, we shall see Good luck guys I will say this
FR did keep trying but down time is just not forgiving, Why am I making payments when there stuff needs constant repair, Brett
