25wab Hitch

I am getting ready to take delivery of a 25wab. What weight distributing hitch are the 25wab owners using? Thanks

My 25wab pulls fine without an Equalizer hitch, before you take ownership of it be sure and get on a ladder and look at the roof and see if you're comfortable with having a camper that holds water on the roof, the exterior seals are only guaranteed for 90 days

Equal-I-Zer 4 point hitch works well. I like how simple it is to setup and use.

I have a 25 CB and used the hitch once, but since I haven't. No problems, but I'm realistic about tow speeds and 70 is about my max. Not because my truck won't pull it, but because tires tear the hell of campers when coming apart.

That's quite a bit trailer to not be using a WDH. I know I've never pull something that large without one.

I tow my 25WAB with a 2017 F250 CCSW 6.7 diesel. Wonderful truck that easily tows the 25WAB. I use the Equalizer WDH 1400 and it is adjustable for the height of the trailer hitch. Enjoy your new WAB. We love ours and moved up from an 18EC.

All the Chevy 2017 HD long box's don't require a wdh until 2000lbs. The short box needs one at 1500.

We are towing with a 2013 GMC 4 door short box diesel, we cross the mountains in Western MT and Northern Wyoming without any sway problems. While hauling a 50 inch RZR and a 4 wheeler sideways in the back with a full tank of water. Try it first, you can always add the hitch.

You may change your mind after you get a few miles underneath your belt. A WDH with sway control is almost a must for comfort and safety if towing anything of size or weight. Level trailer and level tow vehicle is the most important thing for towing.
It keeps equal weight on both axles to prevent blowouts and wheel bearing failure.
Never rely completely on the manufactures bare bones minimum recommendations. These are to sell vehicles and compete with other brands.

Of course I don't have a clue what you consider ''anything of size or weight" but I'm pretty confident I'm not going to change my mind with my trailer...freeway speeds and cross winds are one handed with minimal corrections. Just set the cruise and enjoy the ride.

1500 on the hitch and the rear of my truck is still high...adjust the trailer for level and good to go.

Don't take the manufactures word for anything...It's not hard to understand why there is a difference between long wheel base requirements and short wheel base requirements as it pertains to wdh. Do the math for yourself.

https://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/levers-d_1304.html

I don't remember exactly but the effect on the front axle for my setup was something under 400lbs and that was before calculating the load I added forward of the rear axle. Then you add the weight of the humans calculated by distance forward the rear axle...

Here is the hitch we decided on. Blue Ox BXW1500, took delivery on Friday and towed 3 hours home seems good. We cant tell if its the weight of the trailer or the hitch but there is very little sway. Thanks for everyone's input.
