2nd Year Forest River Extended Warranty??

I've heard there may be an optional Forest River offer that provides a 2nd year of warranty coverage for $150 (for the chassis, frame, roof, etc.). Anyone know if this is available for Work & Play owners?

Thanks! I was never told about this by my dealer when I purchased my Work & Play new last month. I wonder if Forest River makes exceptions with the 10-day purchase requirement?

I believe many members have gotten good results with calling forest river and asking about the warranty

It seems common that dealers either don't mention it or as in our case, just say "the form is this big pile of papers." My understanding is that the dealer doesn't get any commision or payment from FR if you buy it. So unlike the expensive aftermarket warranties where the dealer makes a huge profit selling it, they don't tend to push this one on you.

We bought our camper at an RV show, did the paperwork and then picked it up a few weeks later when the snow melted. Being out of sight/out of mind, we didn't go back through the papers and mail the form in the 10 day window if they were counting from the purchase date. But we had no problem - they mailed us back a signed copy and cashed the check.

Call Rhonda direct at the warranty dept. She can put it on your credit card and be done in 5 minutes and they usually wave the 10 day rule when you explain you never heard about it from the dealer. BTW..the dealer is not required to inform you. Here's her number 1-574-534-3167

We asked our dealer about it too. They looked at us like a dog watching TV! Then tried to sell us their crappy extened warranty! For $1800.!! NOT!!

I am not real keen on dealers...even the good ones!

Ditto! Didn't see your post until today. Anywhoser, I called Forest River's main line yesterday (Sep 3rd) and Rhonda answered the phone. She gladly accepted my credit card info as payment. She already had all my purchase info in her computer (VIN, purchase date, name, address, etc.). I assume it was forwarded to Forest River by the dealer that sold me my Work & Play. Anyhow, it had been over 10 days, but apparently it's not a problem.

All I can say, this warranty is a no-brainer. $150 for an additional year (total 2 years) of Forest River OEM factory warranty is a bargain!

Thanks everyone for the information.
I normally do not buy extended warranties, but for $150, I am buying this one.

It's a great value because if you have winter where you live and you don't get to use it for 5/6 months it's hard to find all the defects in that short a time frame, so the extra year is a huge help.

Just FYI -

I just called the number listed in this thread and they can no longer do the warranty on the phone and on your credit card. It has to be sent in - but they are also no longer holding you to the 10 days (but I didn't ask how long we had).
