Ya'll had 10" of rain this w\e? Damn. Glad you had your kayaks. In CT we had sunshine, 80% + humidity and 95 deg temps. A lot like Fla should be.

For once, Michigan had it going on this w/e. We've had sunshine and nice temps. In resting after the golf cart poker run, family picnic with steaks, ribs, chicken, sausage, and all the homemade fixins. Tonight is the fireworks and a band & dancing on the beach!
Sorry you got rained out. Our summer was late from the loooooooooooong winter and very rainy spring and early summer.

We had a sunny weekend high 70's with a humidex of 99. Calling for thunder shower because of all the humidity. Wish we could have some of this weather in Jan.

On the North Shore of Lake Superior for most of the week--around 70 during the day, sunny, light breeze. Around 50 at night. Perfect week and a trip everyone should make.

Hey Rick and Linda. Sorry to hear about all the rain. We were just in Pensacola beach last week and it was really nice. It started to rain the day we left.
The only thing we couldn't do was watch the blue angles practice.
Hope y'all have a safe trip back. It's a long way.
We are from Whitehouse.

In Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg for the week. The rain train has stayed mostly west of us, by just few miles... A few showers but nothing like the deluge through most of Florida, Alabam, Georgia,Tennessee and Kentucky

Last week camping in southern Maine, it rained right after we set up until the following morning. Sunshine for the following three days. The evening before we broke camp it poured. The following morning it was still raining on and off but stopped long enuff to pack up whatever I didn't do the night before like the mat and a few tables. I really hate putting wet stuff away.

Sorry about that post Dovetail
I rad yours and didn't notice the repost of the original post. My mistake.
Your right about whispering pines. The new owners have put a lot of work and money into it. We frequent there often.
Now that we don't have kids at home we are venturing off a little farther.
We just have one child and he moved out this past June.
Second year at UT Tyler.
We are finally free to go anywhere our hearts desires. The only thing holding us back is this job I can't seem to sake. But that's life.

The North Georgia mountains were nice and wet the whole week! We arrived on Friday the 28 of June and stayed til Yesterday July 6. All I can say is the waterfalls were beautiful with all the swollen creeks!

There was an interesting gentleman in the same park we were in this weekend. I walked the dog often and every time I walked by he had maps out, so I stopped to talk to him.

He was on a motorcycle, traveling extremely light....just a tiny pup tent. He was mapping out the rest of his trip, started at home in Georgia and stopped at this park for a couple of days to wait out the *heavy* rains along the coast...he called it flooding. He's working his way along the coastline to FL, then back up to Georgia. IIRC he said Alabama was getting hammered.

He left out the same time we did so I guess the weather is clearing today.

During our talk he mentioned his wife so I asked how she felt about his trips (he mentioned he does it often) and he said "well she's quite the independent gal herself"..with a big smile.)

I told him he was living my dream.
