Axle Specs

Just picked up a new used 2006 38rl W&P. I'm trying to find the part number for the axles that were offered that year? It has 6k but I know 7k were an option on the trailer and possibly 8k? I have contacted Forest River and given them the vin in hopes they can help (no reply yet). I'd like to order a new set of axles for braking purposes and so the current 6k ones aren't always close to max load all the time. I have no stamping or tags on the axles right now and dexter makes a 100 different variations of torsion 6-8k torsion axles.

If anyone can help, that would be great thanks!

I have no idea where you live. But this place in White Pigeon, MI
https://www.johnsonssurplus.com/

Specializes in RV surplus any thing, especially axles. They might be able to sell you appropriate replacements after measuring what you have. Good Luck

I'm not far from there. My problem is knowing what angle my axles are. I can measure everything but that as they may have settled over the years. Torsion axles come in a plethora of starting axle degree. Get it wrong and they'll rubbing at full load or be ill handling.

Found some numbers after wire wheeling for an hour. Forest River emailed Dexter the number I found to see if they can get me specs. Thanks!

There used to be a man in parts here that was very helpful...I talked to him about Dexter swap one time. His name was JASON. I think he is gone....they might be of assistance.
